63′ Hatteras GT Sportfisher Model
Available with an open or enclosed flybridge, the wide 20-foot beam of Hatteras GT63 ranks her among the largest convertibles her size ever built. The GT63 was a state-of-the-art yacht when she was introduced in 2012. Built on a solid fiberglass resin-infused hull with prop pockets to level the engines and reduce draft, the GT63 is able to cruise the Bahamas Banks and navigate shallow coastal waters with confidence.
The interior accommodations found in the GT63 are not just spacious and luxurious, but are a match for many of the finest European motoryachts. The standard four-stateroom, three-head layout includes an opulent amidships master and large VIP stateroom forward, both with private heads and showers. The two guest staterooms have upper/lower berths and share a common day head. (The aft guest cabin can be converted to an office.) On the main deck level, the salon area is aft and the galley and dinette are forward. The salon features a watertight entry door that opens at the touch of a button, and a spiral staircase leads up to the optional enclosed flybridge. A fast ride, Caterpillar 1,900hp C-32 engines will cruise the GT63 at 35 knots (about 40 knots top).

The Hatteras legend began at Cape Hatteras in North Carolina. The area’s unpredictable hurricanes and frigid and turbulent waters were known for some of the best sportfishing in the world.
Willis Shane, knew that no ordinary wooden boat could withstand the elements of the Cape and set out to create a one-of-a-kind yacht. Throwing tradition to the wind, he began the construction of a new kind of sportfisher, a motoryacht that would be made of fiberglass and one which would eventually revolutionize the sportfisher industry. Shane focused on exceptional engineering and using touch materials that would withstand some of the most rugged and robust waters, and kept in mind that the ideal sportfisher would also be large enough to handle a group of fisherman.
Hatteras GT 63 InteriorHe perfected the sportfishing yacht on March 22, 1960, a 41-foot twin cabin sportfisherman with a14-foot beam and a pair of 275-hp Lincoln V-8s named the Knit Wis. Able to excel in some of the most harsh environments without sacrificing performance, it’s no surprise the sportfisher was enthusiastically accepted by the community.
